Birds of the Maltese Archipelago is not only the first full description of the hundreds of birds recorded in the Maltese Islands but also amply documents and interprets the important role the archipelago plays in bird migration between Europe and Africa across the Central Mediterranean. The world-famous ornithologist, Dr. David Bannerman, draws on his unparalleled knowledge of avian history to describe each bird in detail, its geographical and breeding ranges, habits, and habitat. Staff member of Malta’s National Museum of Natural History and a naturalist and expert on the birds of Malta, J.A. Vella-Gaffiero, contributes the local records and status of the species. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, 22 full-page colour plates with ca. 250 illustrations, and numerous beautiful b&w text illustrations by such artists as Charles Tunnicliffe, Donald Watson, C.E. Talbot, and others. An appendix, general bibliography, and index with English, Maltese, Italian, and scientific names are included, as well as a (fully intact) folding map of the area.

The Horn Collection bestaat uit 200 gespecialiseerde vogel- en natuurboeken die deel uitmaakten van de privécollectie van de internationaal geprezen (wijlen) Nederlandse vogelpreparateur Ewold Horn. Voor al uw vragen en/of voor het vrijblijvend aanvragen van een volledige inventaris met alle vogel- en natuurboeken die nog te koop zijn (500+), kunt u contact opnemen met Erna Horn op ernahorn@hotmail.co.uk.
* Ewold signeerde zelf bijna al zijn boeken, en dit feit wordt als zodanig dan ook niet nog extra vermeld in de beschrijving.
**Verzendopties worden afgestemd aan de hand van actuele tarieven. Persoonlijke afhaling/bezorging kan besproken worden.
