A beautifully presented and vividly printed catalogue of the paintings of American artist Frank Stella, covering the years 1958–1965. Compiled by Lawrence Rubin.
The catalogue documents the early work of Stella, the influential American painter and sculptor renowned for his minimalist and post-painterly abstraction.
Reproduced in bright colour throughout, it also includes biographical notes, exhibition histories, and an overview of Stella’s student work. The volume features an introduction by Robert Rosenblum.
Lawrence Rubin, a noted art dealer, presented Stella’s first solo exhibition and maintained a long professional association with the artist.
Bound in the publisher’s original bright red cloth, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, the cloth is lovely with only light marking.
The dust wrapper remains excellent, showing minimal creasing and occasional minor marks. Internally, the binding is firm and the pages are exceptionally bright and clean.
