Chris Verene is an American artist who has made a reputation out of his documentary photography of his hometown Galesburg, Illinois. His animated yet matter of fact portraits of the colourful citizens of Galesburg give an endearing sight into smalltown life, as he lovingly captures friends and family members whom he has been photographing since he was sixteen years old.
His work has been exhibited in renowned museums such as The Whitney, The Met, SF MoMA and LA MOCA.
Family was published in 2010, and this copy is one of the 2000 books from the first print. The large, hardbound book is in fine condition, with a strong spine and sharp corners. Only the spine is slighty sunfaded.
