She proposed improvement of women in society and in this publication the welfare of poor people and their housing. Scarce and important document. Not in KB. See also Ulla Jansz: Het luchtkasteel van Catharina Alberdingk Thijm, 1994. l Catharina Louisa Maria Alberdingk Thijm (Amsterdam, 29 november 1848 - aldaar, 14 januari 1908) was een Nederlandse schrijfster en sociaal werkster.In Een Volkshuis (1898) presenteerde zij een plan voor een gezamenlijk wooncomplex van arbeidersgezinnen en alleenstaanden, het ontwerp van het complex was gemaakt door haar neef, en bekend architect, Eduard Cuypers. In 1898 verscheen een brochure met de titel "Een Volkshuis" met een plan voor een nieuw te bouwen wooncomplex met collectieve voorzieningen, die soelaas moesten bieden voor de dubbele belasting van arbeidersvrouwen.
