Cover design: Hannah Black and Tiffany Malakooti. Cover depicts the names of Black’s collaborators layerd over one another. Two teddy bears stand on top of the graphic lettering. One is shredding a book, while the other is walking away with a book tucked under its arm. Graphic design: Soraya Lutangu.
Book was part of installation “Hannah Black: Some Context”, Chisenhale Gallery, London, Sep. 22 - Dec. 10, 2017. "Some Context" was structured around 20,000 copies of The Situation, a book made up of transcribed, edited and censored conversations between the artist and friends about ‘the situation’. This theme was interpreted differently in each conversation. The books provided the stuffing – in shredded form – for the ‘transitional objects’ also displayed in the space, and were shredded at the end of the exhibition.
