Harry M. Moore was born in Sydney in 1955. After his education in
Toowoomba and Brisbane he worked in the legal sphere before taking up a position in commercial finance.
In 1987 he commenced freelance wriling on a full-time basis, an experience he describes as "the supreme fulfillment of a long-held inner impulse", and the opportunity to combine a passion for all things aeronaulical with a flair for composition.
Researching and wriling ' SILVER WINGS IN PACIFIC SKIES' was a three-year project which brought him into felicitous contact with many of his father's contemporaries.
He ascribes his love of avialion to being raised in a home where aeroplanes were the mainstay of dinner-table discussions, as well as countless joyous hours spent around airports in the days when the
'big-prop' airliners ruled the skies. Far from being a chair-borne observer, he has taken any opportunity to go aloft in Cessnas and Boeings alike.
Extensive travel in the Pacific region intensified his veneration of Kingslord Smih and olher doughly avialors who opened up the awesome oceanic air roules tgo Australia. He holds equal esteem for the pioneers of Australia's vast internal air-network; not only air-crews but also the engineers who "kept 'em flying"
His avialion articles have appeared in Australian and overseas journals, and he is currently writing a study of Australian military aviation in the South West Pacific Area in World War II.
His hobbies are attending air-shows, cataloguing memorabilia from the
'Golden Age' of flight, and corresponding with fellow aviation/mililary wrilers and historians from all over the world
