In July of 1998 Peter and Susan Wagner sailed a 41-foot ketch named La Boatique away from their dock in Port Clinton, Ohio. In 2002 they ended their journey in Opua, New Zealand. They overcame storms at sea, equipment malfunctions, and threatening illnesses. In the book, The Sailing Adventures of La Boatique, Susan recounts their cruising experiences during their four-year voyage. Susan and Peter demonstrate how they lived a low budget yet comfortable lifestyle aboard La Boatique. After sailing halfway around the world, they discovered that there is no place like their home waters of Lake Erie.
