Gangulphus eques patronus Harlemensium Portrait of St. Gangulphus of Burgundy in armour, holding a sword and shield. This (rectangular) image is set inside of an oval landscape. Etching inside of an oval engraving, with letterpress text underneath. Sheet size 321 x 207 mm., platemarks 196 x 160 and 131 x 82 mm. Anonymous print, published in the first edition of Hugo van Heussen's 'Batavia Sacra' (Brussels: François Foppens, 1714). This is possibly a copy (in reverse) of Cornelis Visscher's engraving of the same subject. Dark spots in the margins and edges of the image area. Pinholes in the top margins, some discolouration in the top edge, and a small tear in the top left corner. In fair condition.
