= The collection of memoirs about Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin (1895-,1925) included works of people who knew the poet and at the height of his fame, and in the difficult period of the crisis, leading up to the tragedy. The co-founder of the "Order of Imagineers" poet Anatoly Mariengof, a close friend and colleague of Yesenin for many years, writes about him with undeniable tenderness, but at the same time with a slight irony. Matvey Roizman, secretary of the Yesenin-based "Association of freethinkers", appears in his memoirs as a respectful and inspired fan and student of the great poet. For Ilya Schneider, meeting Yesenin involved working as a secretary and accompanying Aysedora Duncan during her tour of the Soviet Union. Each author of memoirs looks at Yesenin from a special, unique perspective, allowing the reader to form the most complete and comprehensive idea of the poet's personality.
