1898, The work and the edition which made Pavlov world famous. First edition in any Western Language, published 4 years before the first English translation was issued (1902) and even 31 years before the first French edition appeared. The German edition is the edition which made Pavlov's originally in 1897 at St.Petersburg published book known to a large audience in the entire western world.Heirs nr. 1105 :" The work of the Russian physiologist Pavlov in the field of the physiology of digestion led to his being awarded the Nobel Prize for medicine in 1904. His demonstration of conditioned reflexes and automatic responses in dogs had consequences not only for medicine, but for political practice, the sociological sciences, and psychology as well."
