De tekst heeft geen apparatus criticus: op p. 38-39 staat aangegeven op welke plaatsen Rudd afwijkt van de tekst van C.O. Brink (Cambridge, 1982). Er wordt ook aandacht besteed aan de invloed van de Epistula ad Pisones (Ars poetica), onder andere uitgewerkt aan de hand van Alexander Pope’s Imitations.
De uitgave wordt afgesloten met een bibliografie en registers op eigennamen (proper names) en literaire onderwerpen (literary topics).

Stofomslag en het boek zelf zijn in uitstekende staat.
