Plus d'informations
Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu (1814–1873) was an Irish writer, best known for his contributions to the Gothic and supernatural fiction genres.
Le Fanu's writing often explored themes of the supernatural, the uncanny, and the psychological aspects of fear. He was a master of creating atmospheric settings and building suspense, and his works often feature haunted houses, mysterious disappearances, and malevolent entities.
Le Fanu's works had a significant influence on later writers of horror and supernatural fiction, including Bram Stoker, author of "Dracula." Le Fanu's emphasis on psychological horror and his ability to evoke a sense of dread and unease continue to captivate readers to this day. He died on February 7, 1873, leaving behind a legacy as one of the masters of Gothic literature.
