Plus d'informations
"This book is being written for two sorts of people primarily. The main group includes those engineers, technicians, and research workers who are entering upon active work with semiconductors, and wish a source of general information about the subject that will bring them up-to-date on all phases without the overwhelming masses of detail that characterize many treatises, and without an excess of mathematics which would occupy the space that could be devoted to more directly usable information. Where theory is mathematical, they want to see enough of the mathematical theory to be able to deal with it when reading the literature, but they have no desire to become practitioners in the art of theoretical calculations.
The secont type of person for whom the book is intended is the student, perhaps in his senior year or in graduate school, who is interested in supplementing his usual course work in solid-state theory with material on both of the scientific and the technical aspects of semiconductors. Again it is felt that the type of treatment is suitable, since the general derivations not given here can be found in his other textbooks. It is hoped that the present book may give him a unified discussion of that part of available theory pertaining particularly to semiconductors." - W. Crawford Dunlap
