Details: Originally published 1896 by Ford and Son, Carlton, Melbourne, and edited by Baldwin
Spencer, this set is a full and complete hardback reproduction of the original 4 volumes,
incl. maps/illustrations, and printed in black and white and one-sided only. A British Museum
Natural History 1996 stamp is on the front and back page of each book.
This set is not an official facsimile edition.
Condition: all 4 volumes are very fine with clean text and plates, no internal damages, all maps intact,
and with strong bindings - only a few discolouration spots on first and last pages, and 1 loose
page in Volume II.

The Horn Collection consists of 200 specialized bird and nature books that were part of the private collection of the internationally acclaimed (late) Dutch bird taxidermist Ewold Horn.
