In perfect condition. The series My Mother's Album consists of autobiographical notes of an artist's mother, Bailey Solodukhina, written by her when she was 83 years old. it is a detailed story about childhood in prerevolutionary Russia, about the difficult years in a country undergoing postrevolutionary reform, about life during the "Great Stalinist Era" and afterwards. It is a touching and agonizing story about a life full of endless suffering of appearing and disappearing hopes.But the album has onother, parallel story. There are colour photographs on the top part of each page - cut-outs from original magazines from the 1950's, the era of "flourishing socialism". All of these "picures of happiness" and the inscriptions beneath them recount humanity's dream-come-true - the building finally, of a "just a beautiful country". Two of these series, "Holyday of Labor and Victories" intersecting with the incessant torment of a real person, create a realistic portrait of life in Russia during the beginning and middle of our (past) century.
