“Everywhere, we search for the immaterial, all we find is material.” Kathleen Fink introduces this retrospective of her work with this quote from German 18th century poet, author, mystic, and philosopher Novalis. For her, it captures the creative process of her imagination as she observes, draws and makes. Kathleen was awarded the Marzee Prize in 2006 and this overview of her work from 2000 to 2008 is a testament to the poetic beauty of her jewellery and objects, and the drawings and paintings that inform them. With an introduction by the artist and quotations from poets, playwrights, philosophers and scholars.
