Het boek werd uitgegeven met de laatste circa 68 pagina`s omgeven door de enveloppe. Als men de enveloppe openbrak (in dit geval bij pagina 210) kon men het verhaal uitlezen. Als men de enveloppe dicht hield dan kon men het boek naar de winkel terugbrengen en kreeg men het betaalde geld terug. Wanneer men tien enveloppen verzamelde kon men deze tien enveloppen (moesten van verschillende titels in de Harpers mystery serie zijn) inwisselen voor een gratis Harpers Mystery boek.
