The Dutch Presence in America, A Dutch Story, brings to life the world of 17th century Holland and the fledgling colony across the ocean through the story of a young couple from northern Holland who travel to Amsterdam and thence onto the New World. The Stichting North Holland Hudson 400 has commissioned the book, that tells the story of two children, Dirck and Anne, and their journey to New Netherlands in the 1620s.
The book was presented in Texel, since Henry Hudson departed the Netherlands via the Texel Roads on April 6, 2009.
