Marja Huibers-Boeren tells how she was in a wheelchair for eight years due to a connective tissue disease and then ended up in bed where she lay for six years and had to spend the rest of her life. Pain day and night, but especially not being able to be the wife and mother of their three children as she would have liked to be, made her life an agony. Until, helped by loving helpers, she became aware of what being sick actually means to us. The book tells the long road of trial and error. Although the shape is different from that of your path, because you are not sick, for example, you will recognize a lot in these inner steps. The illustrations that adorn this book are largely made by Marja in the years that she was in bed.
