De oorspronkelijke bibliofiele eerste uitgave van dit gezamenlijke werk met Vincent Starrett over Ernest Hemingway zou 286 genummerde exemplaren bevatten.
Michael Murphy was echter zo ontevreden over de drukgang en het bindwerk van deze uitgave dat hij de druk stopte en grotendeels liet vernietigen.
Volgens een eigen brief van Michael Murphy, die aangetroffen werd in het enige andere exemplaar dat wereldwijd te koop wordt aangeboden (zie mijn foto`s 1 en 2) was deze uitgave een mislukking 'hopelijk niet de essays op zichzelf, maar wel de uitvoering".
Het enige andere exemplaar wordt op Abebooks te koop aangeboden voor 287 dollar. Daar aangeboden door Blackrock Rare Books, Dublin Ireland.
De handgeschreven opdracht (datum February 1977) is voor Henk van Otterloo - een Nederlandse liefhebber van private presses en zelf drukker-in-de-marge van de Green Escape Press te Houten.

Het doorhalen van de naam Washington op de titelpagina is door Michael Murphy zelf gedaan.
