De portfolio laat een zeldzaam en prachtig beeld zien van de wereld aan het einde van de 19e eeuw. De foto’s , met tekst van Stoddard, werden oorspronkelijk gepubliceerd in wekelijkse losse afleveringen (serie van 15) van de Household Educational Series uit 1893.
In deze verzamelbundel zijn de foto’s zijn pagina-groot afgedrukt en voorzien van uitgebreide onderschriften.
Band: Gebonden met mooie goudopdruk op voorplat.
Oud bibliotheek exemplaar (Detroit, Michigan)
De band is beschadigd aan de randen en het schutblad is ‘ingekort’ (zie foto).
Het binnenwerk is in redelijk goede staat.
Formaat: 35 x 28 cm (oblong)
