Nicely presented survey of public fountains in Switzerland, that were, in the past, a source of water and the social hub of town life. Profusely illustrated throughout in black and white. While Switzerland is not noted for any particular fountains, its towns and villages are rich in charming watering places. This book takes a leisurely stroll, acquainting the reader with the fountains of Switzerland-simple and ornate, old and new. Their waters mirror the history and legends of the country.
